Horny Doctor Feelgood Gets Caught with his (surgical) Pants Down

Sexting Notes

An anesthesiologist who has worked for 20 years at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center has had his medical license suspended by the Medical Quality Assurance Commission, for what authorities call “sexting; sending photos and exposing his genitals” while in the operating room.

Dr Arthur K Zilberstein

According to the hospital investigation, Doctor Arthur K. Zilberstein, age 47, “compromised the safety of surgical patients at least during the known period of April-August 2013.” At least some of the patients involved were undergoing caesarean birth operations at the time of his juvenile shenanigans.

Investigators revealed that lab coat loony Zilberstein is believed to have sent more than 250 sexually explicit texts during complex surgical procedures. During one particular abdominal operation on a woman, Zilberstein sent 45 messages over a 90-minute period.

On one day alone, said the state report, on June 17, 2013, Zilberstein sent 64 texts during seven surgeries, many of which were sexual in nature.

He is also accused of sending a photo of his genitals with his scrub pants pulled down while in the operating room. In one text he wrote: “Oh. And my partner walked in as I was pulling up my scrubs. I’m pretty sure he caught me.”

A spokesman for Swedish Medical Center said this: “Once we learned that the State had suspended this physician’s medical license, his Staff membership and privileges were immediately suspended. We just recently learned of these allegations and are conducting our own internal review of the physician, who is not directly employed by Swedish.”

Zilberstein is in fact employed by a contractor, Physicians Anesthesia Services. Wonder how proud they are of this notoriety?

Here’s another take on this freak:

Our Observations:

We are not particularly proud to report that clinical cretin Zilberstein is a graduate of the same medical school we are: UCSD La Jolla.

This note should go without saying but as some of you are new, we will once again reiterate the daffy doc reality in this country:

Zany Zilberstein will be fired by his employer and banned from Swedish Medical Center. He will almost assuredly move to another state, where he will be quietly relicensed and working in another O.R. within an appallingly brief period of time.

Who knows? He may even show up at a hospital near you, undressing patients totally unaware of his penchant for pee-pee exposure.

Don’t you just love American healthcare?

Ashok Kumar Babaria

In keeping with the American medical soap opera entitled, “Another Foreign-born Doctor Commits Another Crime,” Doctor Ashok Kumar Babaria has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for his role in a wide-ranging cash-for-patients health care scam.

Babaria, of Moorestown New Jersey, was the owner and operator of a diagnostic testing center in Orange New Jersey.

Cash in Hand

Babaria, a radiology specialist, confessed in court in 2012 that he had been paying other physicians illegal cash for patient referrals, which is a violation of the federal healthcare anti-kickback statute. The case uncovered the fact that a gaggle of other emigre physicians were also scooped up in a federal dragnet and charged with numerous medical and financial crimes.

Prosecutors revealed that Babaria was the medical director and owner of Orange Community MRI. The facility performed ultrasound, MRI, CT and heart scans. Within a single 3-year period, Orange Community MRI billed for and received nearly $2,000,000 in illegal revenue from Medicare, as patients were referred  by MDs who were paid $75-$100 kickbacks for those referrals.

US District Judge Claire Cecchi also sentenced Babaria to three years of supervised release; ordered him to forfeit the $2,000,000 he stole and fined him an additional $25,000.

Barbaria is hardly alone in his mischief. In fact, he is but one of 17 others found guilty as a result of this investigation alone. Doctor Chikezie Onyenso, age 55 of Randolph, was convicted in October 2013. Doctor Maryam Jafari, age 43 of Hoboken, was found guilty in February 2014 and was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Former Orange Community MRI executive director Chirag Patel, age 38 of Warren, pleaded guilty of corrupt charges also. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail.
